Dear Sir,
The biggest difficulty that a foreigner finds when arriving in Brazil is the fact that he/she doesn't speak Portuguese.
As the owner of a service company and a teacher for more than 25 years, I've become a specialist in teaching Portuguese to foreign people.
My students have consisted of consuls, vice consuls, diplomats as well as directors and presidents of multinational corporations.
My classes are dynamic, individual and participatory. They are allied to a successful didactic causing effective results. They are teached at the student's company, at the Consulate, at his home, or even at my home, according to his preference and disponibility.
The classes are based on a book that has different kinds of dialogs, from simple to complex ones, with lots of illustrations in order to avoid translation. Grammar is teached with these dialogs, never isolate. From a certain number of classes on, I ask the student to read something of his interest on newspapers, magazines, etc and we talk about it later. After that, he starts listening to news on radio, music, everything he considers interesting.
The classes are charged R$70.00 by hour and I recommend 3 weekly hours. That may be on 3 or 2 days(1.5h classes), in order to make the most of the student's time. For those 1.5h classes, the price would be R$100.00. In general, in 5 or 6 months, the foreigner student can already understand and be understood in Portuguese.
The classes are scheduled and paid at the beginning of each month and, if previously canceled, they can be rescheduled according to the student's and my disponibility. Once a month, I send an invoice either to the student or to the company.
Besides Portuguese classes, I also help my students on their city adaptation, suggesting restaurants, places for shopping, tourist information, hairdressers, giving them some "tips" of everything they may need. And I don't charge anything for these; it's just a personal assistance, always essential.
I'm also available to present myself personally, when I'll be able to show you some of my teaching methods.
The classes are scheduled and paid at the beginning of each month and, if previously canceled, they can be rescheduled according to the student's and my disponibility.
Here you'll find a brief list of my clients during the past 2 years: Sandvik Mining and Construction, RR Donneley, Sodexho, Kurita do Brasil, Atlascopco, Samson, Seiko do Brasil, Total Lubrificantes, Marconi, Consulado Geral da Suíça, Marubeni, Kantal, Mallinckrodt, Lufthansa Systems, Consulado do Japão, Cardápio, Nissho Iwai, Consulado Geral da França, Tamrock and Grinnell.
